A pre-tournament seminar will begin at 5 p.m. Oct. 29 with sign-up at the Holiday Inn Express, 50 Steve Lynn Drive in Somerset. The meeting and a National Sponsor Field Test Product Drawing will begin at 7 p.m. and are open to anglers and the general public. Tournament weigh-ins will begin at 3 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31 at General Burnside Island State Park Boat Ramp, 8801 S. U.S. 27, Burnside. Interviews of the top five teams will be conducted after the weigh-in.
The Crappie Kids Fishing Rodeo will be hosted in conjunction with the tournament Oct. 31 at Ruckels Pay Lake & Restaurant, Hwy. 27 and 70 in Somerset. Sign-up begins at 8 a.m. with the rodeo from 9-11 a.m. The rodeo allows children in the area to enjoy nature, do a little fishing and win prizes. The event is free to children ages 12 and younger, with all participants eligible for a chance to win one of six Crappie USA $1,000 scholarships awarded at the 2016 Cabela's Crappie USA Classic tournament.
